The Seattle Wall of Gum
The Market Theater in Post Alley at Pike Place Public Market is a photographers dream. Bright colors , tons of textures, and interesting photo ops abound. You would think it's we're talking about the theater but the art is outside. Over the years a tradition has built up that people put their gum on the wall while waiting in line to enter the theater. It has become such a huge mural that the theater has given up cleaning the gum up and below are the results. It has exploded from simply people leaving their gum into a giant "gum art" exhibit that extends into the alleys. Check out the photos below to get a feel for how much gum is on the wall and some of the "art " that has been created.

A great commercial for gum would be an empty wall, actually. If the gum had such a long lasting flavor, there would be no reason to spit it out or stick it to a wall.
