Woman Fights High Gas Prices By Burning Gas Stations

One woman in Danville, California is very attentive to the plight of the ordinary consumer.

Diane Craig, 64, was arrested today on suspicion of premeditated arson and burglary after starting fires at two local gas stations and a Starbucks outlet.

Local police say she used a fireplace log and a lighter to set the fires in bathrooms of those establishments. And although I used this cool image for dramatic effect, there was no significant structural damage to any of the buildings. (check out the policework on the Starbucks involvement after the jump):

According to an article from KCRA 3 News in Sacramento:

Police later found Craig at a nearby fast food restaurant with eight fireplace logs with her. She told officers that she was behind the fires and said she woke up that morning wanting to do something about high gas prices.

Police said they don't know why Craig targeted the Starbucks.

I have a hunch Diane set these fires because high gas prices wouldn't afford her the luxury of enjoying whipped lattes at Starbucks three times a week anymore. And if she can't have them, no one can!

I wonder if she also realized that burning down gas stations would most likely cause the price of gasoline to rise?
