Barry's Ruined Ball Arrives At The Hall of Fame
Here's a look at that beautiful $752,467 record-breaking baseball hit by Barry Bonds that Marc Ecko purchased.
As we reported yesterday, Ecko branded it with an asterisk to teach Bonds a lesson for using steroids or something?
Anyway, it is now at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY with all its warranted and bizarre glory.

The Astericks refers to the Micky Mantle
The Astericks refers to the Micky Mantle, Roger Merris home run derby while they were both witht he yankees. When Merris broke Babe Ruth's home run record, the Baseball League Comissioner(long time ghost writer of babe ruths) applied an astericks to the record because Merris had more games in his season then Ruth. Its a slap in the face. But in bonds case is true.
Ecko didn't made the decision himself
Ecko didn't made the decision himself, there was a huge internet vote where people decided what they wanted him to do with the ball. They chose "Brand it with an astericks and send it to the Hall of Fame"
Bonds later said that if the Hall accepted the ball then they could forget about him every having anything to do with it (i.e. sending them memorabilia and such, as well as ever having him be a member.)

Please learn how to spell before posting on the Interwebs. Singular = asterisk. Plural = asterisks. "Astericks" is not a word.
Not that this ball means anything anyway. Pitchers juice up as much as the hitters do, so none of the records being set today have any relevance when compared to "classical" records such as those set by Ruth, Maris, or Aaron. Any attempt to compare stats from today to then is futile.

You're the idiot here. Plenty of people with dyslexia are able to spell perfectly well on the internet, now that spell-checking is available in browsers. I should know.
Anyway, dyslexia is confusion of the orders of letters and has nothing to do with substitution of the wrong letter.

I didn't hear if they did this to McGuire's record breaker and it's well documented that he was juicing at the time. MLB doesn't care as long as they're making money.
