Splish Splash, Fox Business Is Taking A Bath
FBN's Adam Shapiro does some hard-hitting winter investigative journalism as he questions Bernie Madoff's former accountant, David Friehling.
Friehling's young (guido-esque?) son came out and threw some water on the Fox News Van. Also looks like Friehling the CPA is giving up his office space on account of the whole Madoff thing.
Also of note - the reason Friehling is at the police station: he was filing a complaint against Fox for harassing him.

Fox Goes After "I Am CNBC" Ads
In what seems like Round 2 of the CNBC vs. Fox Business battle of the promo shorts, FBN's Liz Claman unleashed a sarcastic parody of those epic "I Am CNBC" ads that have been popping up ad nauseum. The CNBC spots are getting kind of weird (did you see the one where Melissa Francis says she 'doesn't like her feet'? Wtf?). It's about time someone spoofed them.
As background, here's the original one featuring Maria Bartiromo:

The Fox Business Holiday Card Brawl

The above image appears on the front of the fledgling Fox Business Network's Holiday Greeting card. After getting hooked up by the FBN folks to do a day of liveblogging and interviews with their NYSE floor correspondent, Nicole Petallides, it looks like I'm on their mailing list.
It would appear CNBC's Jim Cramer is dressed up like The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and is caught in the act of robbing a Christmas tree. Not sure why he decided to break one of his own CNBC ornaments, but you gotta admit that "Fox" with the Santa hat looks pretty badass.
The inside of the card contains season's greetings from the staff and a fully imagined pejorative rhyme about Cramer to the tune of Mr. Grinch: "You're a mean one, Mr. Cramer. You rant and rave all day." etc. But not everybody is taking the joke very well.

Fox Biz's Cody Willard On Jay Leno
I always found it difficult to embrace Cody Willard as the financial guru some said he was. Maybe it was the hair, maybe it was the carefree attitude, maybe it was because he wasn't Jenna Lee, or maybe it was because he came out of nowhere and just started hosting a show called 'Happy Hour' on the Fox Business Channel. Not exactly the prime pedigree for a Wall Street guru. But I guess I never really gave him a shot.
He really does impress me in this clip from the Tonight Show 2 nights ago. He and Jay Leno, an avid 'Bailout Detroit Fan', riffed on some ideas about the auto industry, why Citi is 'too bigger to failer', why he has 'the best hair on Wall Street', being best friends with Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser), and why the bailouts are causing the Depression.
All make for great financial conversation we rarely see on inane late night talk shows. Definitely check it out and let us know what you think in the comments section below:

Jenna Lee: Hot On The Radar
A big congratulations to one of WallStreetFighter's all-time favorite Biz Babes, the lovely Jenna Lee of Fox Business, for being named one of TV Week's "Next Generation of TV News Stars".
The news of this made me take a trip down memory lane to all the times we wrote about Jenna here on WSF. The was our Jenna Lee Biz Babe bio from back in May with a solid photo gallery. Then came the Foxy Business video roundup, on which she made an appearance. And who could forget the now infamous interfaith dating debate she started in early September? Certainly not me!
In spite of all that in-depth coverage, there were a few details we missed. Thanks to TV Week for bringing them out:
1.) Jenna's dad is former NFL quarterback, Bob Lee. (He played both quarterback and punter positions. Really? Plus, he's on the list of NFL quarterbacks who have posted a perfect passer rating.
2.) Jenna got her start as a "hyper-local" reporter for TV's NY1 news, whatever that means.
3.) Roger Ailes, whose comments about Erin Burnett having 'the staying power' we debated here at WSF, also personally testifies that Jenna will be a huge star someday soon. That's a pretty killer recommendation.

Liz Claman Is Atwitter And We're Excited About It
In addition to being on the cutting edge of all the latest "red-headed bombshell foxy biz babe" news (which there is a lot of, I can assure you), Liz Claman also has her finger on the pulse of the tech community. Proof? She totally knew about Twitter before it was cool.
In last night's daily dose of Liz Vision, the 'siren in red' reminisced about her interview with the 'Twitter gang' back in June.
That was wayyy before John McCain, Barack Obama and Hurricane Gustav made the whole microblogging, short-form Twitter application the new 'big thing'.
Liz was impressed with the company back then and made a note to check in on them in a few months. As soon as Liz got wind Twitter was the new hottest hing on the politico scene, she made a call to her producer and revealed some shocking truths:

How Donny Deutsch Is Ruining CNBC
CNBC launched a big advertising push recently, claiming they are increasing their viewership by substantial numbers, but there's one thing on that network that will always suck - Donny Deutsch.
If you're not familiar with his "prime time" show 'The Big Idea with Donny Detusch', I'll give you a little summary. It's a show with a set very similar to 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' where Deutsch shoots straight from the hip with entrepreneurs who became successful with a 'big idea'. And it really is terrible.
To be honest, if I wanted to watch a guy blow smoke up someone's ass for inventing something as 'brilliant' as Crocs, I would probably be better off watching some home shopping network. At least they have stuff like this to occasionally entertain you.

How To Ignore Debt Collectors
Granted, this is kind of a strange situation, but it's worth watching to see Dave Ramsey teach the art of dodging the debt collector (1:46 in the video, fullscreen is probably your best bet).
Apparently some dumb 18-year-old college girl signed up for a 'family cell phone plan' with a couple of her dumb friends from school. They used their phones for a few months, racked up a $1,300 bill, and decided not to pay it. The debt collectors are calling and Dad is pissed. Help us Dave Ramsey!
